About Us

The Fayetteville Region Highway Construction Trade Academy (HCTA) is a workforce development training hosted by Hardy Group Consulting LLC, through an award from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The purpose of the the Highway Construction Trade Academy (HCTA) is to:

  • Train and upgrade minorities, women and disadvantaged persons to journeyman level in the highway construction industry.
  • Establish a plentiful and well diverse pool of skilled workers for the highway construction industry.
  • Demonstrate that equal opportunity exists in the highway construction industry.

  • The highway construction industry is expected to experience a workforce shortage due to retirement.

Earn $10 - $21 hrly.

Entry Level positions as:
Flagger ($10 - $21 an hour)
General Labor ($10 - $21 an hour)

Class Schedules

Fayetteville Region HCTA is a six (6) week training opportunity. A total of four (4) training sessions will be available starting May 2021. Women, Minorities and individuals with back ground issues are encouraged to apply!

Class dates:

  • May 10  - June 18, 2021
  • May 18 - July 24, 2021 (Evenings/ Weekends)
  • June 28 - August 6,2021
  • August 16 - Sept 24, 2021

* Completers will earn credentials and hands on experience:
